PESHAWAR: The suspended healthcare services on Sehat Card have been restored at Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar.
According to the hospital administration, after completing all necessary arrangements, the facility of treatment through Sehat Card has resumed at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) from today.
The notification issued by the hospital said that all stakeholders are thanked for their cooperation and understanding during the temporary suspension of services.
Earlier, the Khyber Teaching Hospital administration had suspended treatment on the Sehat Card in all departments due to non-payment of bills by the insurance company for almost a year. Due to the closure of services, patients faced severe difficulties, and many patients were forced to turn to other hospitals.
After the restoration of the Sehat Card facility, free treatment facilities have once again started.

Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) has suspended free treatment provided Sehat Card program due to non-payment of funds, due to which patients are facing severe difficulties.
A statement issued by the hospital administration said that the free treatment service under Sehat Card has been suspended due to the government not providing funds to the insurance company. According to the administration, the insurance company has not paid the hospital’s dues worth crores of rupees, due to which the hospital is facing financial difficulties. This suspension is causing concern among patients and their families awaiting treatment at the hospital, as the Sehat Card has been providing free treatment to thousands of people for the past several years
