KHYBER: The Khyber district police took timely action to recover an abducted citizen safely and arrested two serving policemen. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

According to the police, under the supervision of DSP Bara Circle Sowalzar, SHO Hardam Gul of the Bara police station successfully led an operation that resulted in the safe recovery of the abducted citizen, Jamshed, son of Ghairat Khan. During this operation, two policemen, Mir Gul and Tayyab Khan, were arrested, while another officer, Haider, managed to escape.

According to reports, SHO Hardam Gul and his team raided a private hotel after receiving a tip-off, where they found and safely recovered Jamshed. The arrested officers were assigned to various checkpoints in Bara, and they have been immediately suspended. A formal case has been registered against them, and efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing officer.

DPO Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal has taken a strict stance on this incident, stating that criminals in uniform will not receive any leniency. He emphasised that there is no tolerance for corrupt individuals within the police department, as such behaviour undermines the credibility of the police and public trust. He reiterated that the protection of the lives and property of Khyber’s citizens is the top priority for the police department, and all available resources are being utilised to achieve this goal.
