PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has moved for two major reforms in two different departments of the province to ensure attendance in offices and public lodge complaints against illegal societies.

This was informed during the weekly review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, who has said that the provincial government is committed to improving the service delivery system through departmental reforms, effective governance, and digitisation. He stated this while presiding over the weekly review meeting on governance matters, attended by administrative secretaries and relevant officials. Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting via video link.

The meeting was informed that anti-encroachment operations are underway to advance Peshawar’s beautification and rehabilitation plan effectively. The Chief Secretary directed all departments to maintain close coordination to ensure smooth progress on ongoing initiatives.

The forum was briefed that strict monitoring is being carried out to curb hoarding, especially of sugar and flour, by keeping a close check on market supply and dealers’ stock. To ensure the success of the measles and rubella vaccination campaign across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Deputy Commissioners have been assigned special tasks.

It was further informed that the committee responsible for establishing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Authority will draft the required legislation within two months, while public engagement in PPP projects and a roadmap for electric vehicle rickshaws are also being developed.

The meeting noted that the facial recognition attendance system is being introduced across the province. Meanwhile, the Land Use and Building Control Authority will launch an online portal within two weeks to register complaints related to illegal housing societies and constructions.

During the briefing, it was revealed that the e-Office digitisation project will be extended to all directorates and subordinate offices by December 10 to enhance transparency and efficiency in government operations.
