ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have not separated themselves from Pakistan rhetoric, calling it a scheme, against the nation that serves the interests of India and Afghanistan.
While addressing the media at the Parliament House, Khawaja Asif accused the PTI leadership of siding not with Pakistan but with its enemies.
He mentioned that the problem extends beyond probes into the media profiles of PTI founder Imran Khan. “PTI has not declared any separation. Any story they wish to build stems from that account,” he remarked.
The Defence Minister also charged the account with sharing stories opposing the Pakistan Armed Forces and the judiciary. “Our forces have achieved a victory over India but this account keeps circulating anti-institutional messages,” he stated.
Khawaja Asif also referenced past controversies, asking if PTI leaders had forgotten the time when former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and others allegedly mocked the Supreme Court.
Rana Sanaullah warns of possible treason case against PTI founder
Senator Rana Sanaullah, Prime Minister’s Advisor, has indicated that filing a treason case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan cannot be ruled out.
He also observed that Khan’s situation might resemble that of MQM founder Altaf Hussain, with whom he had served as party leadership for some time.
During an interview with a TV channel, Sanaullah said that the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) had issued a clear and firm message at a recent press briefing “PTI has been cautioned. If they disregard it there will be repercussions,” he remarked, noting that the government completely supports the ISPR declaration.
Sanaullah also mentioned Khan’s tweet after meeting with his sister stating, “Given the language he employed the verdict has been finalized. The chance of a treason case against him remains plausible.”
He further condemned remarks made at PTI gatherings asserting that these acts will provoke a reaction. “These individuals are moving toward their destiny, which won’t be any different from that of MQM or its originator. Where are MQM London and Altaf Hussain, at present?” he questioned.
Discussing the affairs of the party, Sanaullah forecasted that PTI could soon divide into distinct groups. “Most of PTI will not engage in this frenzy,” he remarked.
On a related note, he accused India, Afghanistan, and PTI-affiliated media of promoting the narrative of terrorists responsible for the Jaffer Express attack.
