ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has rejected the fabricated claim of the Afghan delegation that the TTP militants entering Pakistan from the Afghan side are “Pakistani refugees returning to their homes.” He referred to the claim as “laughable” and “illogical”.
In his tweet, Khawaja Asif mocked these so-called “refugees” who are armed with such highly destructive weapons and are not using any roads or vehicles to enter Pakistan, but are “like thieves” using rugged mountain paths. In fact, he said that the behavior of these people is the exact opposite of that of innocent refugees.
Afghan delegation’s claim that TTP terrorists are actually Pakistani refugees returning to their homes, absurd. He questioned how these so-called refugees could be returning armed with highly destructive weapons, not traveling openly by buses, trucks, or cars on main roads, but…

The minister also accused the Afghan delegation of reflecting not only their dishonesty but also their evil intentions in the statement they made.
This comes as a response from Khawaja Asif to a recent warning to the Afghan Taliban regime to take control of the situation in their area. He stated that if the land of Afghanistan is used for enemies’ activities against Pakistan, Pakistan will give a very strong response. Khawaja Asif assured Pakistan’s support for peaceful co-existence but warned that if Afghanistan kept harassing Pakistan, it would surely retaliate.
Khawaja Asif’s statement is like a boot on the neck of the Afghan administration, reminding them that Pakistan will not be a defenseless victim if the Afghan land is used for terrorism, but will scrap with the enemy on its own turf to safeguard its territory and security if that is the case.
