CHARSADDA: The Charsadda police on Friday claimed to have arrested suspects in the murder of four-year-old Muhammad Zakaria.

In a significant development regarding the tragic case of four-year-old Muhammad Zakaria, the Mandani Police have apprehended the individuals responsible for the child’s murder in Mandani Sabandi. The suspects are reportedly neighbours of the victim, and further investigations are ongoing.

According to reports, on March 13, 2026, the victim’s uncle, Samiullah, filed a report stating that his nephew Muhammad Zakaria had left home after Friday prayers but did not return. During a search, authorities discovered the child’s body in nearby fields. It was evident he had been severely tortured and ultimately killed by being hanged with his own trousers.

Upon receiving information about the incident, District Police Officer Muhammad Waqas Khan and SP Investigation Alamzeb Khan visited the scene to collect crucial evidence. DPO Waqas Khan, responding promptly to this horrific incident, established a special team led by SP Investigation Alamzeb Khan, along with DSP Tangi Gulshed Khan, DSP Investigation Riaz Khan, and several other officers, instructing them to expedite the arrest of the suspects.

The investigative team pursued various leads and interviewed numerous individuals. During this process, the victim’s family identified the suspects as Noman and Noshirwan (alias Noshir), both residents of Sabandi Mandani. Following this revelation, the family formally accused them of murder, prompting the police to take immediate action and arrest both individuals.

Initial investigations revealed that suspect Noman had sought a loan from the victim’s uncle, while the child’s father, a teacher, had previously expelled Noshirwan’s son from school. In a fit of anger, the two suspects brutally murdered the innocent child.

The police have launched further investigations to uncover all aspects of this serious crime. DPO Waqas Khan expressed profound sorrow and regret over this tragic incident, emphasising that crimes against innocent children will not be tolerated and that those responsible will face justice to the fullest extent of the law.
