ISLAMABAD: Kerosene oil prices in Pakistan have been increased once again, driven by a surge in global crude oil prices.
According to an official notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of kerosene has been raised by Rs4.66 per litre, taking the new price to Rs433.40 per litre.
The revised rate has come into effect immediately. Previously, kerosene was being sold at Rs428.74 per litre.
This marks another increase following a substantial hike of Rs70.73 per litre announced just last week, adding to the financial burden already faced by consumers.
In contrast, the government has decided to keep petrol and diesel prices unchanged.
As per the notification, petrol will continue to be sold at Rs321.17 per litre, while diesel will remain at Rs335.86 per litre.
The Petroleum Division stated that the government will absorb the impact of rising global oil prices instead of passing the full burden onto consumers.
It also confirmed that payments covering the price differential would be made to oil marketing companies (OMCs) by the government.

Crude oil prices saw an uptick on Thursday as market participants re-evaluated the likelihood of a middle east ceasefire, despite Tehran’s firm stance against entering new negotiations.
The global energy landscape faced additional strain due to ongoing supply bottlenecks originating from Russia and the Gulf. These logistical pressures helped drive a price recovery following a sharp decline in the previous session.
