A local peace Jirga held in the Hujra of Taj Khan Mahmuti, urges joint action against narcotics and social crimes in the area and appeals to the people from all walks of life to participate in this campaign to make the area peaceful.

A detailed discussion was held on the agenda of the jirga, during which representatives of all nationalities, political and social figures, and dignitaries of the area agreed to play their effective and key role in establishing peace and order.

The participants resolved to fight unitedly against aerial firing, drugs, and other social evils and renewed their pledge to promote brotherhood, tolerance, and mutual respect in the area. This peace jirga can be called a positive and promising step towards lasting peace and social harmony in Katling.

The Jirga vowed complete end of aerial firing: The jirga declared aerial firing at weddings and other happy occasions as a dangerous scourge and announced a complete ban on it. The participants pledged to support boycott and legal action against violators at the social level.

To save the young generation from the scourge of drugs, the jirga resolved that no concessions will be made against drug dealers and full cooperation will be extended to law enforcement agencies.

Emphasis was placed on resolving minor disputes between different communities in the area through the jirga system and promoting mutual respect. Addressing the jirga, the dignitaries said that peace is a basic condition for the development of any society.

“We will not tolerate any kind of unrest or social evil on our land. This jirga is a renewal of the pledge that every child of Katling is an ambassador of peace.”

At the end of the jirga, a proposal was also made to form an administrative committee that would periodically monitor the implementation of these decisions. Participants expressed the hope that this step would prove to be a milestone towards lasting peace and ideal social harmony in Katling.
