Kashmiris around the world, including on both sides of the Line of Control, are observing Black Day today against Indian occupation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the purpose of observing Black Day is to send a message to the international community that India is refusing to grant the Kashmiri people the right to self-determination, India is not democratic but an aggressor country that has occupied occupied Jammu and Kashmir for 78 years.

Today, anti-India protests will be held in all the small and big cities of Azad Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad, and rallies will be taken out under the auspices of various organizations including the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Pasban Hurriyat.

On the occasion of its Republic Day, India has turned the occupied valley into a military camp and imposed a strict lockdown in the name of security. A large number of occupying Indian forces have been deployed and CCTV cameras and drones are being used to monitor the movement of people.

On the other hand, the search of vehicles and pedestrians has been intensified in the occupied valley, while the roads have been blocked with barbed wire and barriers. The surveillance operations of the occupying forces are severely affecting the normal life of the Kashmiri people.

It should be noted that India has martyred 500,000 Kashmiris for more than seven decades, 96,481 Kashmiris have been martyred in the last 36 years while demanding freedom, more than 100,000 children have been orphaned, and more than 22,000 women have become widows in three decades.

The Indian occupying forces have detained more than 180,000 Kashmiris over three decades, and private property worth more than trillions of rupees has also been destroyed in the last three decades.

In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the majority of Muslims are being turned into a minority through fake domiciles. Kashmiris will observe Black Day and demand from the international community that Kashmiris be given freedom from India and that the United Nations resolutions passed in favor of Kashmiris be implemented.
