KARAK: In a firing exchange between police and armed militants in Madki area of Takht Nusrati, Karak district, a militant was killed and arms were recovered.
According to police sources, the police operation was initiated after receiving information about armed miscreants creating a blockade in Madki area of Takht Nusrati Police Station. SHO Yaqub Khan Shaheed Police Station along with the police team, reached the spot and sealed the area after getting the information.
On the police’s arrival, armed miscreants opened heavy fire upon the police party. Police also fired back in self-defense and to arrest the assailants. The firing engagement was for approximately 20 minutes.
On a later search operation, police found the body of one militant lying near a local hill. On his side, a Kalashnikov rifle, a magazine, and cartridge were recovered by police.
The body was taken to Takht Nusrati Hospital for completing the legal formalities and the identification of the deceased is in process.

Khwarij attack police convoy in Hangu, several injured
It is worth mentioning here that the police convoy was targeted by Khwarij in the Doaba area of Hangu.
According to Superintendent of police Investigation Abdul Samad Khan, the police officers were returning to Doaba after attending a meeting with a peace committee in Karbogha when an explosive device planted by the roadside detonated, striking their convoy.
The injured officers were immediately taken to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Doaba, where they are receiving medical treatment.
SP Investigation Abdul Samad Khan, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and SHO Imranuddin were travelling in the same convoy when the explosion occurred.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace those responsible for the attack.
