Residents of South Waziristan have appealed to the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court to establish a video link facility for the session court in the district headquarters to facilitate the residents instead of traveling 157 kilometers to the district of Tank.
So far off the Tank district, South Waziristan, Wana has not yet been able to establish court offices, including the Sessions Judge Office and video link facility, due to which the public has to travel 157 kilometers to Tank even for minor cases.
The presence of the Sessions Division in Tank has become a constant torment for the public. Repeated assurances have been made, and even the Peshawar High Court has issued video link orders, but unfortunately, they could not be implemented.
The establishment of Waziristan court offices in Tank is tantamount to injustice rather than justice to the local people. The residents demanded that the government and their elected representatives establish a building for the district and session court to get easy access to the court.
South Waziristan is one of the largest tribal districts in terms of area and has borders with Balochistan’s Zhob district, and people from that adjacent area travel a long distance of 157 kilometers to reach the Tank session court.
Abdur Rahman, a local Lawyer, said that the Deputy Commissioner is not interested in a lot of temporary buildings for the district and session office, and even in Section 107 of PPC, people spend Rs 30000 only on transport charges to Tank, while legal expenses are beyond this figure.
He said that it is the government’s responsibility to provide justice to the people at their doorstep, but unfortunately, they were born in such a country where justice could not be seen even in a telescope.
