PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Secretary General Abdul Ghafoor Haideri termed Pak-US relations as a devilish trick and urged the government to remain vigilant and work for the restoration of peace in the country.
He said that Prime Minister’s visit to America was important, but the government should remember that America did not help Pakistan in any difficult situation as China did in the past.“Friendship with America has cost us dearly in the past, and if the rulers want to go ahead with America, they should do so gradually and carefully,” Abdul Haideri remarked while talking to Pakhtun Digital. He said that Pakistan would never replace China with America, and whenever a bad time came in the past, the US was directly or indirectly involved. He said that Pakistan wants friendship with all countries on an equal basis instead of any dictation, and due to mistakes in the past, Pakistan has been left behind in the pace of development.
He said that Pakistan should not indulge in any international disputes and the government should not play the games of others on its soil, as it was done in the past.Pakistan should not be used in sweet talks again. If America and India do not have a secret hand, the situation can be better in many places. He said that any suggestion of giving bases to the United States would be a clear violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, and JUI-F will never compromise on these principles. He suggested that Shehbaz Sharif focus on their national interest and avoid any confrontation with others for the sake of the United States. He said that they should learn from past mistakes, and now it would be better to focus the national agenda on peace and development.
