ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that joining the Gaza Peace Board is only to get Trump’s appeasement, saying that this house is not an elected house, but has he ever taken this house into confidence? It is the duty of the government to tell what decisions it is making.
Addressing the National Assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that our policies are made under international pressure, we have never made our foreign policy for our own interests, the founder of Pakistan took two historic steps related to the establishment of Israel, the 1940 resolution is under the resolution of the establishment of Pakistan, when Israel came into existence in 1948, the founder of Pakistan declared it illegal, have we ever thought about the instructions of the founder of Pakistan? Following them is a distant thing.
Opposition demands that the government take the House into confidence over the decision to join the Gaza Peace Board. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that this House is not an elected House, but has it ever been taken into confidence? It is the duty of the government to tell what decisions it is making.
You are not taking the House into confidence; let’s not take it, but did you take the Cabinet into confidence? When Bhutto was going to sign the Simla Agreement, a full House was taken into confidence. If we adopt the method of consultation and reconciliation, many complicated issues can be resolved, and our future can be bright. There are many problems.
He said that the Peace Board, being the United Nations and the Security Council, does not have a parallel status. The Palestinians are in a very forced situation, but keep the policy right, going to the Gaza Peace Board is only to get Trump’s appeasement.
The JUI chief said, “The area where I live is occupied by the Taliban. To survive there, it is necessary to pay bribes to the Taliban. All government officials pay bribes to them. We pass the budget here with 10 percent of it, our home and children are not safe in the area either.”
He further said that this system is being run under coercion under the democracy, it was not just fake but a forced majority, we have seen many black days, we will celebrate February 8 as a black day, many atrocities have been committed against Pakistan but February 8 was the extreme, we have to withdraw these legislations, the exemptions given in the 27th Amendment have to be returned.
