PESHAWAR: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, has cautioned the Afghan Taliban that India cannot be a reliable ally, and said Afghan land is being utilized for malicious means against Pakistan.

Speaking to the Gaza Solidarity March in Peshawar, Hafiz Naeem told the Taliban government of Afghanistan to take care with their foreign policy, especially concerning India, saying, “India has never been a friend of Muslims and it never will be yours.” Hafiz Naeem further stated that Afghan land is being used to do damage to Pakistan’s interests.

“While both the people of Pakistan and the people of Afghanistan share a close cultural connection and emotional bond” he said, prompting a call for peaceful talks between the two countries and not war.

Hafiz Naeem also questioned the Taliban’s actions, noting that while the Taliban are forces political leaders out of Afghanistan under a guarantee of safe passage, they restrict them in their own activity. He encouraged both Pakistan and Afghanistan to devise a coordinated plan against terrorism and protect their lands.

Regarding the Gaza situation, Hafiz Naeem condemned the Israeli assault on Gaza, saying, “Gaza is now a heap of rubble. Children are being murdered and world powers are silent.” He lamented the silence of Western powers and the United Nations, particularly the US, and held them accountable for protecting economic and political interests above human rights.
