Islamabad Traffic police said that citizens can use Margalla road and Marriott Hotel road for their emergency work in the red zone, as Security has been put on high alert in the federal capital, and the Red Zone has been completely sealed in view of possible protests against the recent US and Israeli aggression against Iran.

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued an alternative traffic plan for the convenience of citizens to ensure the security of public places and sensitive installations.

According to the administration, only the following two routes will remain open for entry into the Red Zone. Apart from these, all other entry and exit routes leading to the Red Zone have been closed by installing containers.

The traffic police have set up diversions at various locations, including Kalsoom Plaza and Fazal-e-Haq Road. Fazal-e-Haq Road (near China Chowk) from Kulsoom Plaza will remain closed to traffic. Citizens are advised to use Jinnah Avenue as an alternative.

Traffic will be suspended from Polyclinic to near Lal Quarter Chowk. Citizens have been advised to use Saddar Road as an alternative. G-6 to F-6: Citizens going in this direction should use the China Chowk Underpass or Seventh Avenue to use Jinnah Avenue. There will be a diversion for traffic going from Aabpara Chowk Suhrawardy to Serena Hotel. Citizens coming from Club Road and Bhara Kahu should take Kashmir Chowk to Srinagar Highway, then Seventh Avenue and Margalla Road.

The district administration has imposed Section 144 in the entire city, and strict security arrangements have been made around the Diplomatic Enclave. Citizens are requested to avoid unnecessary travel and, in case of any emergency, contact the traffic helpline 1915 or Pukar 15.
