ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC)-I has labelled three persons, including the Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as absconders in a criminal matter. The case, filed at Noon Police Station, contains allegations and the defendants are charged with intentionally avoiding detention.

The court declared a notice on December 4, 2025, under Section 87 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) after establishing that the accused individual provincial lawmakers, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, Meena Khan Afridi and Dr. Amjad were deliberately evading legal action.

The police reported that declarations from process servers and officers were documented, offering proof that the accused were deliberately evading arrest. Upon examining this evidence, the court labelled the three accused as absconders. Commanded the release of proclamations. These proclamations will be exhibited publicly at their homes well as in key spots around the locality and, outside the court building.

The proclamations hold authority and shall stay effective for a duration of 30 days according to the statute. This step signifies the beginning of a chapter, in the matter with officials now facing the urgency to find and detain the fugitives.

The case is being closely monitored, with political observers particularly noting the involvement of the CM of KP. Legal experts say that the court’s decision could have significant consequences, both legally and politically.
