TEHRAN: Iranian media have claimed that the wife of the martyr, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Ms. Mansoureh Baghzadeh, is alive. According to reports from the Iranian media, the Revolutionary Guards have confirmed the news regarding Ms. Baghzadeh.
It may be noted here that after the joint attack by the US and Israel on February 28, targeting Iran, reports had come in claiming that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with his family and others, had been martyred in the attack.
However, on March 2, reports had come in claiming that Ms. Baghzadeh, who had been injured in the attack, had also succumbed to her injuries and had been martyred. However, the reports claiming her death have now been refuted by the Iranian media, claiming that she had been severely wounded in the attack and had survived.
It may be noted here that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has put forth three conditions for a ceasefire:
Iranian constitutional rights must be recognized.
Compensation for the damages incurred by Iran in the war.
Global powers must ensure that there will be no further aggression against Iran.
Additionally, the commitment to peace was reaffirmed by President Pezeshkian once again during negotiations with the Russian President and the Pakistani Prime Minister, particularly regarding Iran’s stance on peace in the region.
On the other hand, the newly elected Supreme Leader in Iran, Sayyed Mojtaba Ali Khamenei, during his first address to the public, announced his intentions to avenge the martyrs’ blood. He said that the Strait of Hormuz needs to remain closed and once again reaffirmed that his position demands the taking of specific action. He said he would not hesitate to avenge the martyrs’ blood.
Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei stated, “Without the support of the Iranian people, I hold no significance. Our enemy is after attacking the Iranian people, and we will defeat them.” The Iranian people’s unity will always be above anything else. I ask Allah to guide me in leading the people of Iran.”
He further said, “All US bases in the region need to be closed immediately. If that is not the case, Iran will severely attack those bases. Iran is a friend of all the nations in the region, but attacks on U.S. bases will never be stopped.”
He further stated that all the US bases in the region should be closed at once. If not, Iran would launch severe attacks on these bases. “Iran believes in friendship with its neighbours, but attacks on US bases in the region will continue,” he stated.
The new Supreme Leader of Iran further stated: “The people will defeat the enemy through unity, and we will avenge the blood of all our martyrs, especially the martyrs of the Monab School. We will avenge the blood of every Iranian martyr.”
