TEHRAN: Iran has issued a stern warning to its neighbouring countries, saying that if the United States launches an attack on Iran, American military bases in the Middle East will be targeted in retaliation.

One of the top officials of Iran said that the country had clearly communicated to the US allies in the area and had asked them to prevent the US from going through with its military action against Iran. The official particularly named Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Turkey as countries that have been dealt with regarding the possible repercussions.

This warning comes in the aftermath of the escalating fears of a US-Iran confrontation. The Iranian regime has made it known that it considers the American military presence in the area as the sole reason for any tensions and that it will retaliate if this is the case.

A report coming from the Wall Street Journal, in turn, mentioned that the Gulf nations, with Saudi Arabia at the forefront, are totally against any US military action on Iran. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman are said to have warned the US that an attack on Iran would have the dire consequences of throwing the global oil market into chaos, which eventually would come back to the US economy.

Saudi officials have been sending messages to Iran that they will stay out of any dispute with it. They have also indicated that they will not allow the US to use Saudi airspace for military operations against Iran.

With the situation getting tenser day by day, it is still very fragile and a lot of people are looking forward to a diplomatic way out so that there will not be more fighting in this already unstable region.

Trump encourages Iranians to continue protests, says help is on the way

US President Donald Trump has released a statement in support of anti-government protests in Iran, urging the country’s “patriotic people” to keep on with their demonstrations and even storm the government offices.

Trump, who was posting on the social media site he owns, Truth Social, said that Protesters must not only “keep protesting” but also “take their institutions.” At the same time, he issued a warning to the rulers by stating, “Do not forget the names of the murderers and the oppressors, they will suffer greatly.”

The president’s message coincides with the widespread use of force by the Iranian government against the demonstrators who have been protesting the suppression and violations of human rights. The protests that erupted a few weeks ago have led to the widest ever participation in the demand for the removal of the current regime.

Trump also mentioned that he had forbidden all future contacts with Iranian officials except in the case of the killing of protesters. “Help is on the way,” Trump added implying that there were more and more countries providing their support to the demonstrators.

The announcement has led to a revival of discussions regarding the world’s stance towards the internal strife in Iran, with numerous analysts pointing out the increasing global pressure on the Iranian government as one of the factors.

So far, the Iranian administration has not replied to Trump’s statements but the unrest continues to put the focus on the issues of liberty, human rights, and government accountability.
