DUBAI: Iran launched an unexpected missile assault against Israel using Khyber missiles to attack both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and the Israeli Air Force Headquarters. Iranian media stated that the missiles struck important sites throughout Tel Aviv, Haifa and East Jerusalem.

The attack occurred during a period of increasing diplomatic conflicts between the two countries because reports show that the missiles destroyed important military bases.

Earlier, the Israeli military launched aerial attacks against Tehran which targeted multiple locations, including a facility operated by the state-run broadcasting network. The Iranian capital experienced loud explosions after the air raids took place. The Iranian state media reported that two explosions occurred near the headquarters of state-run media.

The two nations continue to exchange military attacks which leads to an increase in their current fighting situation.

The attack represents another military confrontation between Israel and Iran, which has increased during the past several months because of regional geopolitical tensions. The two countries have maintained secret hostilities for many years because Iran accuses Israel of backing Syrian opposition groups while Israel accuses Iran of attempting to destabilize the region and develop nuclear weapons.

The two sides have fought a hidden conflict until they now conduct visible missile and airstrike combat which has attracted worldwide attention and led to demands for a peaceful resolution.

Trump hints at possible ground troops in Iran amid rising tensions

Earlier, in a recent interview with US media, President Donald Trump refrained from ruling out the possibility of sending ground troops to Iran, stating that, like other US Presidents, he wouldn’t categorically reject military action.

Trump stated that ground forces might not become necessary in the future while he maintained that they could become essential for future operations. Trump explained U.S. objectives in the region during his White House address which involved neutralizing Iranian missile systems, dismantling Iranian naval power and stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons and providing military support to terrorist organizations that operate outside Iranian territory.

Trump reiterated that Iran’s missile program was designed to protect its nuclear weapons capabilities, and he stressed that the U.S. was the country determined to stop it. Trump warned that Iran’s nuclear power and long-range missile capabilities would create an “unacceptable” danger that would threaten both the Middle East and the United States.

While the U.S. initially pursued diplomatic efforts with Iran, Trump said that those attempts failed, leading to military action. Trump explained that he decided to execute the strike because it represented the “last and best opportunity” to handle the “intolerable threats” that emerged from the Iranian government.

Trump also claimed that the U.S. had already destroyed 10 of Iran’s naval vessels and it had achieved a substantial reduction of Iranian missile production capacity. He reported that American military operations had surpassed their expected timeline because initial plans estimated4 to 5 weeks but U.S. forces could continue operations during this period.
