TEHRAN: The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially confirmed the martyrdom of Gholam Reza Soleimani, the commander of the Basij Force.

In a statement released by the IRGC, the officials promised that the martyrdom of Soleimani and the other martyrs would be avenged, and they would not back down in their struggle for justice. In the statement, the officials warned the “terrorist murderers” that the martyrdom of the slain leaders and commanders would be avenged.

The IRGC pledged its commitment to continue its resistance with even greater determination and added that the martyrdom of Soleimani, as well as other martyrs, would only strengthen the resolve of the Iranian people and all the Basij Force personnel to stand by their duty.

In this regard, the recent attack for which Israel claimed responsibility resulted in the martyrdom of Iranian security chief Ali Larijani and the commander of the Basij Force Gholam Reza Soleimani. Although the martyrdom of Larijani is yet to be officially confirmed by the Iranian officials, the martyrdom of Soleimani was officially confirmed through Iranian TV.

In an interview with the Arab TV network, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, claimed that the martyrdom of individual leaders will not affect the regime. “The system is built on institutions,” claimed the Iranian Foreign Minister. “Even in the case of the death of the Supreme Leader and other important figures, the system will not be affected.”

The confirmation of Soleimani’s death has heightened the tensions between Iran and Israel.

Iran’s Khamenei rejects US tension-easing proposals, affirms hardline stance

Earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has rejected proposals put forward by two countries to help calm tensions between Iran and the United States. This comes after a high-level foreign policy meeting, where Khamenei dismissed the proposals immediately, according to sources.

According to reports, Khamenei said that this is not the time to talk of peace between Iran and the United States. “We must defeat the United States and Israel,” Khamenei said, according to sources, as Iran sticks to its long-held stance against America and Israel.

From sources, it is also clear that Khamenei also demanded that America should compensate Iran for the damages it claims to have suffered as a result of America’s actions against it in the recent past. This is a clear indication that Iran is sticking to its hardline stance regarding America.

This comes at a time when there is a lot of tension between Iran and America, which has seen a series of confrontations between them in the recent past. This has been despite the efforts being made to have talks between the two. Khamenei’s words are a clear indication that Iran is sticking to its hardline stance regarding America.
