TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has firmly rejected any notion of surrendering to external pressure, stressing that Iran will not back down in the face of threats. In a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran did not start the ongoing conflict and that every nation has the inherent right to defend its land.
“The defense against attacks is a natural right for every country,” Pezeshkian said. “We have the full capacity to protect our sovereignty.”
The Iranian president also called for a halt in the use of American military bases in the region against Iran. He also highlighted how this is harming relations with other regional countries. He said, “Peace in this region is impossible without paying attention to the aggression of Zionist and U.S. forces.”
“We will not surrender to threats and coercion,” Pezeshkian stated. “The international community must condemn these attacks and ensure the aggressors comply with international laws.”
Pezeshkian further emphasized that any discussions on ending the conflict would be meaningless unless there is a guarantee that future attacks would cease. “As long as there is no guarantee that the attacks will stop, the idea of ending the war is pointless,” he said.

Iranian Minister, in his message, the Foreign Minister appreciated the sentiments of the Pakistani people and said that Pakistan’s standing with Iran in difficult times is a reflection of the deep brotherly relations between the two countries.
