The Iranian army has added 1,000 combat drones to boost its military capabilities in the region and counter any misadventure of the enemy.

According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, this move was made on the orders of the commander of the Iranian army, Major General Amir Hatami. These new drones to be added to the army will significantly increase the operational capabilities of the ground forces.

According to the news agency, these drones have been developed by Iranian army experts in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, and their preparation has been based on emerging threats and experiences gained from the 12-day war in June 2025.

These unmanned aircraft are designed for attack, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare, which are capable of hitting moving and stationary targets on land, sea, and airspace. According to the Iranian news agency, after ordering the deployment of these drones, Major General Amir Hatami said that maintaining and further strengthening strategic superiority in view of future threats is a permanent priority of the army.

He said that these measures aim to ensure rapid combat readiness and to respond vigorously and effectively in the event of any aggression.
