ISLAMABAD: Recent leaks about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max have cast doubt on Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, particularly regarding battery life performance.
Digital Chat Station reports that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a bigger battery than its previous model. The Batteries will range to 5,000 mAh for the Chinese version, while batteries will be up to 5,100 to 5,200 mAh for international models. Of course, this might change with whether the device has a physical SIM slot or is eSIM only.
It allows Apple iPhones to give much better results compared to any Android device with big batteries due to the combination of hardware-software integration and iOS optimization. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is one of the devices in the market that lasts the longest, retaining power during usage.
The new Galaxy S26 Ultra model is set to retain a 5,000 mAh storage capacity that was introduced in the company’s Galaxy S20 Ultra model that was released in 2020. The Samsung device is set to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor that is built on a 3nm process technology. The iPhone 18 Pro Max will use the A20 Pro chip from Apple which may operate on a more efficient 2nm process. The combination of a slightly larger battery and optimized software could give Apple’s new flagship longer screen-on time than Samsung’s Ultra model.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max will compete against both the Galaxy S26 Ultra and all 2026 Android flagship devices with bigger batteries if these leaks receive confirmation. The competition shows that battery capacity does not determine efficiency as the efficiency of devices has become more important than their battery capacity.
Budget-friendly iPhone 17 E coming soon
Meanwhile, Apple is also anticipated to release the cost-effective iPhone design for the year 2026, the iPhone 17 E, perhaps in February this year.
Bloomberg reported that the new iPhone 17 E may be launched on February 19. The phone will replace the previous year’s model, which was the iPhone 16 E. As Bloomberg reported, it seems that the phone will maintain the price, which was $599 when the iPhone 16 E was launched.
However, given the previous concerns about the scarcity of RAM chip supply, the price is not expected to fluctuate. The new Apple iPhone 17 E is expected to look similar to the iPhone 16 E; however, it differs only due to the new A19 processor and MagSafe feature.
This means that iPhone 17 E is not a major update. Therefore, it is easy to explain why the price has remained the same.
Speculation surrounds the fact that, as of now, the official announcement of the Apple company regarding the launch of the iPhone 17 E is on the 19th of February.
