ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  (PTI) Peshawar chapter currently faces internal conflicts because Deputy General Secretary Waseem Zaman chose to resign from his position to District President Irfan Saleem.

Zaman expressed his dissatisfaction with district leadership through his resignation letter because they failed to manage the situation which involved alleged abduction events that took place on February 10. The district president failed to provide Zaman and his family with necessary support and guidance during the abduction incident according to his statement.

Zaman announced his decision to resign because the district president failed to check on him after he returned home. The district committee will receive no communication from him because he intends to protest through a boycott of all official calls and requests.

He further stated that, in his view, the district president was not fit to hold such a key leadership position and apologized for being unable to continue working under the current circumstances.

The resignation shows how PTI Peshawar members do not support each other while it creates uncertainty about the party’s ability to sustain its local leadership and internal cohesion.
