The inside story of Field Marshal Asim Munir’s last meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei has come to light. A malicious attempt by a certain political group to target Field Marshal Hafez Syed Asim Munir, using religion as a weapon, has been exposed.

Contrary to the false narrative spreading on social media, the facts show that the last meeting between the Field Marshal and Ayatollah Khamenei was characterised by mutual respect and national solidarity. During this meeting, the Supreme Leader addressed the Field Marshal, stating, “I am also the son of Ali (a.s.), and you are also the son of Ali (a.s.),” which reflects the spiritual bond and spirit of unity among Muslims shared by the two leaders.

Ayatollah Khamenei praised Field Marshal Hafez Seyyed Asim Munir’s courage, emphasising that the Muslim Ummah is proud of him for not only fighting against a much larger enemy during the battle of truth, known as Operation Banyan Marsus, but also for defeating that enemy decisively.

The narrative circulating on social media in recent days stands in stark contrast to the truth and appears to be part of an organised conspiracy. The original conversation has been taken out of context to mislead the public.

There was an attempt to deliberately make the meeting between the Field Marshal and Shia scholars controversial, even though the meeting aimed for national harmony. This was overshadowed by the creation of a misleading political narrative. The participants in the meeting have publicly rejected this propaganda, clarifying that the narrative being spread is not true but a distorted message.

The main message from the Field Marshal has always been one of unity and religious tolerance.

He has emphasised that respecting all schools of thought is essential in Pakistan, and turning disagreements into chaos poses a danger to the country. It was also clarified that no one is above the constitution and the law; this is a principled stance that applies to every citizen, and no specific group has been targeted.

The importance of prioritising the homeland was highlighted, conveying that without the state, there is no identity or survival. Consequently, it is crucial to put national interests above all else. Referring to Article 5, the importance of loyalty to the state was emphasised, which is the constitutional responsibility of every Pakistani to strengthen national unity.

During the meeting, there was deep devotion shown, along with condolences for the martyr Ayatollah Khamenei, who was a symbol of solidarity within the Muslim world. However, attempts were made to distort this sentiment and create conflict.

As discussions focused on the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the dangers posed by external conspiracies, it was outlined that efforts are being made to incite conflict among Muslims, a situation one should avoid participating in. Spreading false narratives for narrow political interests is not only irresponsible but also detrimental to the nation; therefore, a complete rejection of such propaganda is necessary.
