Former Pakistan cricket team captain and renowned wicketkeeper Rashid Latif has strongly criticized the behaviour of the Indian team after the Asia Cup 2025 final.

On the social media platform X, he wrote that the Indian team is a strong candidate for suspension from the ICC. This statement has come at a time when the Indian team left without receiving the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi after winning the Asia Cup final.

Rashid Latif said in his statement that the Indian players have tarnished the reputation of the game by refusing to receive the trophy and awards from the ACC Chairman. According to him, in any other sport, this would have been an ‘open and shut case’ and immediate suspension action would have been taken against the team.

He further said that since Indian officials are present in key positions, including ICC Chairman, CEO, CFO, Commercial Chief, and Head of Events and Communications, there is little chance of any strict action against the Indian team.  Terming it a bad day for cricket, Rashid Latif said that India has once again blatantly violated the spirit and core values of the gentleman’s game.
