NEW DELHI: An unusual incident of public anger has come to light in the Indian capital, New Delhi, where citizens thrashed a serving Indian Army Brigadier and his son in public for alleged “misbehaviour”.
According to details, the incident took place in a busy area of Delhi when a senior Indian Army officer and his son argued with civilians on the road. Eyewitnesses say that the Brigadier and his son, flaunting their position and influence, misbehaved with the civilians and showed hooliganism, on which the angry people present there took the law into their own hands and “beat” both of them up.
In the videos going viral on social media, it can be seen that the citizens are surrounding the Indian Army officer and are teaching him a lesson for his hooliganism. The incident has raised serious questions about the discipline of the Indian Army and the behavior of military officers in civilian areas.
Interestingly, social media users are viewing the incident in the context of “Operation Sindoor”, where the continuous failures and internal turmoil of the Indian Army have created intense anger and resentment among the public. Analysts say that the beating of a serving Brigadier in the heart of Delhi is a sign that now the Indian people are standing up against the injustices of the army instead of being intimidated by its so-called terror and power.
Delhi Police has started action as soon as the incident was reported, but so far, there has been no formal arrest or official response from the military authorities to this shameful incident. In local circles, the incident is being described as a sign of the declining morale and popularity of the Indian Army.
