India set a challenging target of 203 runs for Sri Lanka to win in the final match of the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai.

The Sri Lankan captain won the toss and chose to invite India to bat first. India started aggressively, with opener Abhishek Sharma making an impressive contribution of 61 runs off just 31 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes.

The Indian team finished their innings at 202 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In the middle order, Tilak Verma remained unbeaten on 49 runs, while Sanju Samson added 39 runs. Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed for 4, 2, and 12 runs, respectively. Axar Patel ended his innings at the crease with 21 runs.

In the bowling department, five different bowlers from the Sri Lankan team each took one wicket.

India made two changes to their squad for this match: Arshdeep Singh was included in place of Jasprit Bumrah, while Harshit Rana replaced Shivam Dube in the final eleven.

It’s worth noting that both India and Pakistan have already qualified for the final of the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to be played in Dubai on September 28.
