RAWALPINDI: Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that serving officers of the Indian Army are directly involved in terrorist acts in Pakistan, and there is authentic evidence in this regard.
In a detailed interview given to a German magazine, Pakistan Army Spokesperson DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry highlighted important points on the security situation in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and the region. DG ISPR says that India is sponsoring terrorism against Pakistan under state sponsorship, and Pakistan has presented this evidence to the international community several times. He said that India presents its internal problems as external while external problems are internal problems. Indian state institutions, including the army, are under the influence of extremist political ideologies, and the increasing violent incidents in India are the result of this extremist thinking.
Referring to Afghan refugees, the Pakistan Army spokesperson said that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees in the last 40 years, and now systematic steps are being taken for their honourable return. He said that Pakistan has extended the deadline for evacuation on humanitarian grounds several times, but there is credible evidence that some illegal Afghan residents are involved in terrorism and serious crimes.
He said that the basic reasons for giving shelter to Afghan refugees, such as foreign intervention and civil war, no longer exist. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry says that Pakistan has played the role of a frontline state in the war against terrorism and has made immense sacrifices. He said that there is no room for any army or armed group in Pakistan, and no group or individual other than the state has the authority to declare jihad.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson said that Pakistan rejects all non-state actors without discrimination and is determined to ensure peace and stability in the region. The DG ISPR said that after the US withdrawal, the weapons left in Afghanistan fell into the hands of terrorists, and the US itself has expressed concern about this. He said that the US has declared the banned Majeed Brigade a global terrorist organisation, while many terrorists killed in Balochistan were also included in the list of so-called missing persons.
During the Pakistan-India tension, the leadership role of the US President emerged as a strategic leader, while Pakistan also attaches importance to constructive and strategic relations with China. DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further said that the international community should play its effective role for a just solution to the Kashmir issue.
