Pakistan Army Spokesman Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that in the backdrop of the recent nuclear or aerial confrontation, India has made a definite claim of not shooting down any Pakistani aircraft during the “Marka-e-Haq operation.
In an interview given to Bloomberg, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan’s military development strategy has included effective multi-platform capabilities and indigenous technology. He said that Pakistan is open to acquiring modern technology, whether it is self-developed or foreign, but the country does not prioritize competition in the arms race as a policy. He clearly said, “We have never tried to play with figures or facts. India could not shoot down any Pakistani aircraft in the Battle of Haq.” Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also praised the performance of various weapons in the Pakistani army, including Chinese-made platforms, and said that these systems have proven effective in combat.
A Bloomberg publication reported that a week ago, some statements were made at the US presidential level, which included opinions. The same report also claimed that Pakistani aircraft targeted Indian aircraft during Marka-e-Haq, while Pakistan had also announced the inclusion of China’s Z-10ME attack helicopter in its forces in August. It should be noted that Pakistan uses a combination of various domestic and foreign-made aircraft and systems, including Chinese-made platforms as well as US-made F-16s.
According to officials, the operational performance of the Pakistan Air Force and ground defence systems is aimed at ensuring national integrity and public safety. Various circles are also reacting to the political and diplomatic aspects of this issue, while international sources and observers are further examining the situation.
