Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan’s personal physician Dr. Khurram Mirza has said that Imran Khan has been injected, and he has been treated by expert doctors from PIMS, which is a positive development.
Talking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Dr. Khurram Mirza, who came to examine Imran Khan, said that the purpose of his visit was to examine Imran Khan himself and advise him regarding treatment since he is a specialist in the field of retina.
According to Dr. Khurram Mirza, Imran Khan has been treated by expert doctors from PIMS and he considers this treatment to be absolutely correct. Dr. Khurram Mirza said that at this time the complete details of the case are not in front of him and it is also not clear under what circumstances the operation was performed.
He said that retinal diseases basically require injections inside the eye, and these injections cannot be administered in a public place or in a non-medical environment. He clarified that such injections are administered only in a hospital environment, that too inside the operation theater. This is not possible in a general ward or clinic.
Dr. Khurram Mirza said that he has been informed that Imran Khan has been injected, which is a positive development. According to Dr. Khurram Mirza, the treatment is not limited to just one injection, but has stages.He said that usually after one injection, a second injection is given at an interval of one month, and then a third injection after a month.
He said that in some cases, laser treatment is also necessary along with injections.The actual decision is made only after a complete examination of the eye as to what type of treatment the patient needs, how much benefit is expected from it and what is the severity of the swelling in the retina. Keeping these factors in mind, a timely and appropriate treatment plan is made.
In response to a question, Dr. Khurram Mirza said that he has brought a whole box of equipment necessary for the examination, however, it is not possible to bring all the machines. He explained that the main and big machines are in the hospital and it is necessary to take the patient there, as those devices cannot be transported here.However, according to him, the nature of the disease can be assessed to a considerable extent with the help of basic devices, and those devices are available with him.
Dr. Khurram Mirza said that if he gets permission, he will definitely conduct a regular examination of Imran Khan.
