Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has requested that government employees disclose their assets.
He mentioned that legislation has been enacted to ensure that these assets are made public, clarifying that this disclosure is not simply an additional condition but a necessary practical step.
Aurangzeb stated that next year’s budget will not be prepared by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), but rather by policymakers.
He emphasized the importance of exports from every sector, expressing that the government’s role is to serve.
He also highlighted that the formal sector has been instructed to focus on non-compliance issues.
Furthermore, Aurangzeb asserted that it is the private sector’s responsibility to lead the country and create jobs, rather than relying solely on the government.
He noted that out of the eight groups in the National Finance Commission (NFC), two belong to the federation while six are associated with the provinces.
