ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces carried out a successful strike in Ghani Khel district of Nangarhar Province, which destroyed terrorist hideouts, according to security sources.

Security sources confirmed that militant positions in Ghani Khel which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, were their target during the strikes. The operation began after intelligence reports revealed the existence of armed militants who were allegedly involved in cross-border attacks.

Officials confirmed that the strike targeted multiple terrorist hideouts. They reported that the operation precisely targeted planned attacks which intended to harm Pakistani security personnel.

The operation generated images that show destroyed compounds and buildings that served as militant operational bases. The targeted sites display scattered debris which combines with visible smoke rising from the destroyed areas.

Afghan authorities did not provide any immediate confirmation about the number of casualties or the extent of damage. Pakistani security officials stated that the operation aimed to protect national security interests while maintaining peace in the border area.

Officials currently assessing the impact of the strike will provide additional details at a later time.

Pakistan’s intelligence-based airstrikes destroy seven Fitna-al-Khawarij centres across three Afghan provinces

Meanwhile, Pakistan carried out intelligence-based airstrikes targeting alleged militant hideouts linked to Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in three Afghan provinces, according to security sources.

Officials said the strikes were conducted in Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost, claiming that seven centres were destroyed during the operation. Authorities stated that more than 80 militants were confirmed killed, while additional casualties are expected as assessments continue.

The centres reportedly targeted include New Centre No. 1 and New Centre No. 2 in Nangarhar; External Maulvi Abbas Centre in Khost; External Islam Centre and External Ibrahim Centre in Nangarhar; and External Mullah Rahbar and External Mukhlis Yar Centres in Paktika.

Security officials described the action as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle cross-border militant infrastructure allegedly involved in attacks inside Pakistan. Further details are awaited.
