PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, has said that the “corrupt group imposed on the federation” has appointed a defeated political figure to malign Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He stated that Ikhtiar Wali himself is a “fake coordinator” whom the public refuses to take seriously.
In a strong reaction to Akhtar Wali’s press conference against PTI and Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, Shafi Jan said that Ikhtiar Wali is an “irrelevant, unserious and failed political character” who regularly spreads “baseless and fabricated propaganda” against a democratically elected Chief Minister. He added that Ikhtiar Wali and his party are symbols of “chaos and negative politics.”
Shafi Jan said the people of Nowshera have already rejected this “self-styled coordinator,” rendering his political worth meaningless. “After being rejected by the public, he has resorted to hurling accusations against PTI,” he noted.
Advising Ikhtiar Wali to “stop spewing venom against PTI,” Shafi Jan said he should instead focus on competing with Amir Maqam — “the very person who did not even allow him to become the president of his own village council.”
Criticising the PML-N’s policies, Shafi Jan said the party’s flawed economic decisions have pushed the country into severe financial instability. “Despite ruling for decades, the PML-N repeatedly ends up begging before the IMF,” he said, adding that the federal government neither has a clear vision nor a coherent strategy to put the country back on the path of growth and stability.
He said the entire focus of the federal government remains on “covering up corruption” rather than prioritising public welfare or economic recovery. “The people of Pakistan are well aware, and no amount of daily fabricated press conferences can mislead the nation,” he remarked.
Shafi Jan stated that PTI’s founding chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi have “thrown the PML-N into disarray,” which is why the ruling political elite has crossed “all limits of oppression and fascism” against PTI.
He condemned the use of water cannons on Ali¬ma Khan, party workers, and parliamentarians outside Adiala Jail in freezing temperatures last night, calling it “clear evidence of the government’s fascist approach.”
Shafi Jan asserted that PTI will not be intimidated by the “petty tactics” of the PML-N. He said that as a result of the federal government’s failed policies, the people are becoming poorer by the day while the “illegitimate rulers imposed on the federation and Punjab continue to grow wealthier.” This, he said, is undeniable proof that the “corrupt PML-N cabal is looting the national exchequer like vultures.”
