PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Zulfiqar Hameed has urged relevant authorities to expedite the work on the Safe City Project to enhance the security of Peshawar.

During a visit to the Peshawar Police Lines, IGP Hameed reviewed the construction progress of the modern Command and Control Centre, which is being built as part of the Safe City Project. The Director of the Safe City Project updated the IGP on the ongoing construction activities, technical planning, and the stages that have already been completed. He informed the IGP that work on various parts of the project is progressing rapidly.

IGP Hameed closely examined different aspects of the construction and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and as quickly as possible. He emphasised that this centre will modernise policing in the province and play a crucial role in providing a safe environment for citizens. He expressed hope that the project will be a significant milestone in improving law and order, preventing crime, and enhancing the effectiveness of the immediate response system.

The IGP also appreciated the efforts of the team and requested weekly progress reports on all stages of the project to ensure its timely completion. He reiterated that the Safe City Project is a joint priority of both the government and the police, and its benefits will directly impact the community. Accompanying the IGP were CCPO Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed, Director Safe City Project DIG Rai Ijaz Ahmed, and Deputy Director Safe City Project Naveed Gul.
