DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its latest player rankings for the Test format.

Similarly, England’s Joe Root is in first place in batting, Travis Head and Alex Carey have been promoted after their brilliant batting in the third Test against England, Australian Travis Head has reached fourth place after moving up 4 places in Test batsmen.

On the other hand, Alex Carey has joined the top ten. He is in ninth place in the rankings and Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel is in tenth position in the batting ranking.

History made: Five wickets in one T20I over

Fast bowler Gede Priandana from Indonesia has not just set a new world record but rather taken a giant leap in T20 International cricket with his incredible performance that made him part of cricket history.

Priandana has become the first bowler to take five wickets in one over in a T20 International match. The world record came very early with the first T20I against Cambodia.

The 28-year-old right-arm pacer bowled a brilliant over that totally eradicated Cambodia’s middle and lower order. In an incredible sequence, he got three wickets with the first three balls of the over and thus he achieved a fantastic hat-trick. Following that, there was a dot ball, and then the wickets of Moung Dara Sok and Phel Vannak were taken, which, in the end, resulted in the remarkable five-wicket over.

Indonesia scored 167 runs batting first at the onset of the match. In contrast, Cambodia managed to get only 107 runs in their batting turn and lost their wickets which led to an easy win for Indonesia.

It should be mentioned that five-wicket over incidents have happened twice in men’s domestic T20 cricket, but this is the first case in International cricket history of such a feat.

Gede Priandana’s unbelievable performance is not only a major achievement for Indonesian cricket but for the world T20 format as well.
