DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday decided to impose a ban on Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf for breaching the code of conduct during cricket matches between Pakistan and India.

The ICC made several decisions about the code of conduct violations during the Asia Cup. The council issued a press release stating that the ban has been imposed on Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf for two matches for violations of the code of conduct.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its decisions on cases of code of conduct violations in matches played between India and Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2025. The hearings were conducted by members of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

14 September 2025 – India vs Pakistan

In a hearing chaired by match referee Richie Richardson:
Surya Kumar Yadav (India) was found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the Code of Conduct, which deals with “conduct that brings the game into disrepute”. He was fined 30% of his match fee and two demerit points.
Farhan (Pakistan) was given an official warning and one demerit point for breaching the same article.
Haris Rauf (Pakistan) was also fined 30% of his match fee and two demerit points for the same offence.

21 September 2025 – India vs Pakistan

At a hearing by match referee Andy Pycroft:
Arshdeep Singh (India) was acquitted of the charge under Article 2.6, which deals with “making an indecent or offensive gesture”, and no action was taken against him.

28 September 2025 – Final, India vs Pakistan

At the final match:

Jasprit Bumrah (India) admitted breaching Article 2.21 and accepted an official warning, resulting in one demerit point. As he had admitted his offence, no hearing was required.
Haris Rauf (Pakistan) was again found guilty under the same article. He was fined 30% of his match fee and given two additional demerit points.

This brings Haris Rauf’s total demerit points to four in 24 months, resulting in a two-match suspension as per ICC regulations.
According to an ICC statement, Haris Rauf will now be ineligible to play in Pakistan’s two ODIs against South Africa (November 4 and 6, 2025).
