ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he considers the legislation of youths’ marriage under 18 to be un-Islamic, and he will violate this law to conduct marriages of youth under 18.
Addressing a joint session of Parliament, Maulana Fazlur Rehman told Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq that he feels that the government is under pressure. To this point, the speaker of the National Assembly replied that this is a position that neither the government nor the opposition is happy with it. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he considers the legislation for youths under 18 to be un-Islamic; it would have been better if this legislation had been sent to the Council of Islamic Ideology.
He said that he will violate this law, and he will conduct marriages of young people under the age of 18. “I am recording my strong protest in the House, we will not allow such laws to be implemented in this country,” Maulana Fazlur Rehman said.
Regarding the Gaza Peace Board, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that if there were changes in the points of the Peace Board, why did you go? Donald Trump is strengthening Israel’s aggressive power, Trump is threatening Hamas. America has invaded Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya one by one.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that after attacking Iran, Israel will stand on the border of Taftan. The first president of Israel had said that our foundation will be the destruction of a newborn Islamic state; the intentions are clear. He criticized that they are going to a forum that starts with threats. Why is there a ban on going to Israel in Pakistani passports? We want peace, but there are rules.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that economic development is happening everywhere, only Pakistan is sinking; the Prime Minister has not taken the Parliament and the Cabinet into confidence.
