NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The historic bridge over the Kurram River in Shewah Tehsil was blown up with explosives, cutting off land connectivity from the rest of the area on Wednesday.

Sources said that the incident occurred late at night when unknown miscreants blew up the Shewah bridge with explosives, cutting off the area’s connectivity with other cities. The blast was so intense that a large part of the bridge collapsed, suspending all types of transportation.

The destruction of the bridge has cut off land connectivity for millions of people from Mir Ali, Miran Shah, Tal, and other adjoining areas, causing severe hardship to the local population. Local residents have condemned the incident in the strongest terms, terming it a cowardly act.

They said that the destruction of the bridge has not only made travel difficult, but also halted commercial and social activities. The local administration has launched an investigation into the incident to identify the elements involved.

Such acts hurt the economy, commercial activities, and the lives of the local people. The loss of land connectivity due to the destruction of the bridge has disrupted the economy of the area and the locals are facing difficulties in delivering essential goods.

The local administration has launched an investigation, but identifying and arresting those involved in such incidents can be a complex process, especially when the identity of the attackers is not clear. However, security forces need to take more proactive and effective measures to prevent such acts.

The fact that the locals have described the attack as a cowardly act also shows that they are feeling the severity of these terrorist acts and hate them. Such acts lose public support and create further anger and frustration among the people of the area.

After such incidents, government agencies need to not only strengthen security arrangements but also take steps to cooperate with the local community and ensure their safety.
