PESHAWAR: At least four people were killed and 14 others were injured in a collision on the Indus Highway in Karak on Saturday.
According to Rescue 1122, all of the injured were taken to the nearest hospital, where they are now being treated. Hospital spokespersons have reported that some of the patients are in very bad condition and blood donations are needed for them.
The dead have been recognized as Akif Junaid Khan (20), son of Akhtar Hussain; Owais (40); and Zulfiqar (45) all from Peshawar. The name of the fourth dead person has not been known till now.
The injured include Ramzan (58) coming from Layyah; Samar Abbas (22) from Bhakkar; a lady known as “A”, spouse of Sabir Khan from Peshawar; Shehzad (50) from Rawalpindi; and Muhammad Irfan (35) from Bhakkar.
Besides them, the other injured people are Ehsan (30) from Kohat; Shoaib (27) from Bhakkar; Tanveer (34) from Bhakkar; Aamir (20) from Peshawar; Ghulam Akbar (40) from Bhakkar; Mulazam Hussain (20) from Kot Addu; Muhammad Fayaz (30) from Bhakkar; and Inaam Ayaz (40) from Nowshera, plus one person among the wounded whose identity is yet to be established.
The hospital administration has made an urgent request for blood donations in order to treat the seriously injured patients.
Six die in traffic mishap in Abbottabad
Moreover, at least six people died when a pickup fell into a gorge in Abbottabad’s Baran Gai Kari area on Saturday morning.
According to the Rescue 1122, six people, including women, were killed when a pickup locally called as Bolan Carry plunged into a gorge in the Baran Gai Kari area in the Abbottabad district.
According to initial information, 6 people, including two girls, were aboard the vehicle, and all were dead.
Rescue 1122 official said that the incident occurred due to brake failure. All the victims had been shifted to a nearby hospital.
The deceased, identified as Maria, daughter of Shabbir, 25 years old, Fatima daughter of Sarwar, 33/34 years old, Zulfiqar alias, Pappu, son of Hussain, 45 years old, Zubair son of Zulfiqar, 23 years old, Yasir, son of Khalil, 38 years old and Akhtar son of unknown, 35 years old.
