Pakistani students get a boost as China announces 75 scholarships for 2026–27

Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2026-27 has opened applications for Pakistani students, offering a total of 75 fully funded seats to pursue higher education in leading Chinese universities.

According to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the scholarships include 35 for bachelor’s, 25 for master’s, and 15 for PhD programs, Gwadar Pro reported on Monday.

The initiative, managed by the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC), aims to deepen educational cooperation and people-to-people ties between China and Pakistan.

HEC, which serves as the nominating agency, has set January 5, 2026 as the deadline for applications through its online scholarship portal.

The Commission emphasized that it is responsible only for nominations under Type-A (HEC–Chinese Government Scholarship), while applicants applying directly to Chinese universities under Type-B or other categories will manage their own applications and communication independently.

A new requirement for undergraduate aspirants mandates the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA), available at www.csca.cn, for all applicants seeking admission to Chinese universities, regardless of the application type.

Entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, CSC administers the program, which now includes 289 designated Chinese universities offering a broad range of disciplines, from science and engineering to humanities, law, and fine arts.
