PESHAWAR: The upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Shangla, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, and Dir Upper, received heavy snowfall, resulting in the blockage of key roads following a fresh spell of snow.
Under the direction of the Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) is actively carrying out snow clearance operations throughout the day and night. Roads across the Galiyat region are being systematically cleared to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow. Once cleared, salt is being spread on the roads to prevent slippery conditions and safeguard public safety.
Authorities have urged tourists to monitor official GDA social media pages and weather updates before planning visits to the Galiyat region. Visitors are also advised to strictly follow all precautionary measures and instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
Officials emphasised that these steps are being taken to protect lives and property and to ensure that traffic resumes safely as soon as possible.
