PESHAWAR:  The National disastor managment authority (NDMA) has issued an advisory regarding snowfall and rain from today to December 18.

According to the NDMA, rain and snowfall are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Balochistan during this period.

According to the NDMA, the westerly wind system will affect northern and western Pakistan.

Due to the possible weather conditions, the intensity of fog is also expected to increase.

Light to moderate rain is expected in the plains, while snowfall is likely in the mountainous and upper areas.

There is a risk of road closures in some places due to snowfall. Light rain is likely in some areas of Quetta, Ziarat and northwestern Balochistan.

According to the NDMA alert intermittent light snowfall is likely at several places in the northern regions.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy in most parts of the country today.

The weather is expected to be extremely cold in the morning and night in mountainous areas.

Rain is expected at a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir this evening and night.

Light snowfall is expected in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
