Heavy rain and hailstorm accompanied by thunder and lightning have turned the weather cold in the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dir and Swat.
Darkness prevailed in Dir during the rain and hailstorm, traffic on GT Road was affected due to overflowing rivers and canals, while in some areas, road erosion caused difficulties in transportation.
The heavy rain disrupted the power system and power was suspended throughout the district. There were also reports of damage to standing crops, fruit orchards and vehicles.
In Swat, heavy rain and hailstorm also brought down the temperature significantly. In Mingora city, water spread on the roads due to overflowing rivers and canals and the malfunctioning drainage system.
