‎The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has accelerated work on a historic project to connect Hazara Division and Malakand Division via Indus river bridge l.

.Under this project, a major bridge will be constructed on the Indus River at Kotke (Torghar), which will directly connect Buner to the Hazara Motorway (E-35).

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved a total of Rs 19.37 billion for the construction of the Buner-Karakar Tunnel in Buner district and a bridge over the Indus River in Torghar district. With the construction of this bridge, the distance between Buner and Hazara will be reduced from several hours to minutes.

‎ This bridge will connect the Buner region to the Hazara Motorway via Torghar, which will make access to Peshawar and Islamabad extremely easy.

The second part of this mega project is the Karakar Tunnel, which will reduce the travel time between Buner and Swat. When this tunnel and the Indus River bridge are completed, Malakand, Hazara and Mardan divisions will be connected through a modern communication network.

‎Travel from Torghar to Peshawar and from Buner to Mansehra will be almost halved. The marble industry and agricultural commodities of Buner will get early access to markets across the country.

‎This route will prove to be an alternative and fastest way for tourists to reach the beautiful areas of Buner, Swat and Hazara.

‎In a recent cabinet meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister it was clarified that funds have been released for these projects and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (KPHA) has been directed to ensure the speed of work.
