Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam(F) leader Senator Kamran Murtaza said that the government should not expect any cooperation after the approval of the 27th constitutional Amendment.
Talking to the media, he said that if Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Senator Ahmed Khan, who voted in support of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, did not resign in a few days, then action would be initiated against him under Article 63.
Talking about the immediate reaction of Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to the JUI senator’s voting in support of the 27th Amendment, Kamran Murtaza said that he immediately gave notice to the said senator and asked him to be dismissed.
Kamran Murtaza said that it was made clear on both sides that they should not touch our people, but despite this, this was done. ‘I am not in a position to complain… Those who are going to complain will definitely do so, and perhaps the matter may even go beyond complaints.’
To a question, Kamran Murtaza said that there was an agreement with them on the 26th Amendment, which started to deteriorate after it was reversed.
“Now, after what has happened to our servant, they no longer have any justification to come to Maulana. Of course, they should not expect any cooperation; otherwise, it will be given the impression that we were together and gave our servant ourselves,” he said.
Senator Kamran Murtaza said that what Bhutto Sahib could not do or did not understand was done by today’s PPP. On the question of not participating in the discussion on the 27th Amendment, he said that the amendment draft had to be placed before the entire parliamentary committee.
He also complained about the urgency in the committee meeting and the lack of awareness about the draft.
