Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the amendments made on the wishes of the upper class and warned that they will takes the road toward Islamabad if it was felt necessary.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that instead of the wishes of the people, constitutional amendments are being made in the country according to the wishes of the upper class, and if necessary, they will join march toward Islamabad. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said this while addressing the ceremony of the completion of the Lhatmi Quran Karim at Jamiah Islamia in Mardan.

He said that this country should have been a symbol of peace, brotherhood and freedom, but today the constitution has been turned into a toy.

He said that the people’s wishes are being trampled on and a two-thirds majority was created for the 27th Amendment by buying people, as a result of which the amendment was passed with a hollow majority.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman also expressed his views on the global situation and said that the blood of Palestinians is dripping from Trump’s hands and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is talking about giving Trump the Nobel Peace Prize. He said that talks of war will not solve the problems, saying Pakistan and Afghanistan should review their attitudes toward each other.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that if the rights of the people of the country continue to be violated or constitutional changes were made against the wishes of the common people, they will be forced to return to Islamabad to stage sit-in for the rights of the people.
