ISLAMABAD: The government has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products, affecting both petrol and diesel.

According to an official statement, the price of petrol has been increased by 8 rupees per liter, bringing the new rate to 266.17 rupees per liter. Meanwhile, the price of diesel has been raised by 5.16 rupees per liter, making its new price 280.86 rupees per liter.

The price hike is expected to affect transportation and daily expenses for consumers across the country. Officials said the adjustment was made in line with global oil price trends and market conditions.

Analysts warn that the increase in fuel prices could put additional pressure on the cost of goods and services, potentially impacting household budgets.

The government has asked the public to stay informed about further updates regarding petroleum product pricing.
