The government has decided to maintain the prices of petrol and diesel for the next fortnight, under which the price of petrol will remain at Rs 253.17 per litre and the price of diesel at Rs 257.8 per litre.
This decision was made in a notification issued by the Petroleum Division. The prices of petrol and diesel in Pakistan are determined according to the prices of crude oil in the global market, the value of the US dollar, and the financial conditions within the country. The increase or decrease in oil prices at the global level has a direct impact on the domestic market of Pakistan, which causes fluctuations in the prices of petrol and diesel.
The prices of petrol and diesel in Pakistan are usually determined by the government every fortnight. Recently, the government has decided not to change the prices, considering the current situation in the global market and internal financial pressures.
The purpose of stabilizing petrol and diesel prices is to avoid putting additional burden on the public. Although oil prices are constantly fluctuating in the global market, the government has decided not to change prices at the domestic level so that the public faces minimal difficulties.
