ISLAMABAD: Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has described talks of enforcing governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as “unwise ” cautioning that this move might cause instability and heighten conflicts between the federal and provincial authorities.
In a statement to the press, Haideri highlighted that constitutional procedures exist to handle law and order well as administrative matters, in the province calling on officials to refrain from exceptional actions.
He faulted the existing PTI leadership for their lack of unity stating that this is complicating governance at the tier.
Haideri also pointed out worries about the registration problems of madrassas and the failure to execute the suggestions from the Islamic Ideology Council, describing these postponements as alarming.
JUI-F leader added that the party remains in consultation with like-minded religious and political groups to form a joint stance on the country’s current situation. He said a final announcement regarding any anti-government movement will be made once these consultations are complete.
Kundi warns KP may face governor rule if PTI fails to cooperate
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi in his statement, warned Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, that if the provincial government did not cooperate with the federal government, the imposition of governor’s rule will become inevitable.
Addressing a ceremony at the Governor House, Kundi said the KP government should work with the federation, and reminded it that the Constitution provides the option of governor’s rule.
Faisal Kareem Kundi warned that if PTI refuses to cooperate and continues to create obstacles, then governor’s rule will be enforced.
The governor added that it is now the people not street protests who will decide the future.
There will be no Islamabad march this time. It will be dealt with an iron hand, he warned.
He further remarked, the person who said he would cut off fuel supplies to the Governor’s House where is he today? The PTI wants a convicted person to run the party and the country. A convicted person must serve their sentence. The courts will decide the fate of the PTI founder.
